The second annual EdTechTeam Kamloops Summit featuring Google for Education will be held at the
on October 24 & 25, 2014.

Centered in the heart of Kamloops, BC, TRU’s campus is one of Canada’s most beautiful university settings. A vibrant community of over 13,000 students from across Canada and around the world complete undergraduate and graduate degrees in addition to diplomas, apprenticeships, professional certificates, continuing studies and ESL. Another 10,000 students take advantage of TRU’s flexible learning options to study online or by distance through the Open Learning Division. Students can also take programs at regional centres throughout the interior of BC, a satellite campus in Williams Lake, and an Open Learning Centre in Vancouver.

Parking: Parking will be $5 day on the first day of the event (Friday), but will be free on Saturday. Due to the fact that TRU’s regularly scheduled classes will be in session on Friday, October 25, parking will be limited this day. It is recommended that conference participants arrive early and carpool, if possible. Finding parking on Saturday should not be difficult, as regular classes are not in session on weekends. Parking lots closest to our conference venue are A,H, U or N (see map).

Host City:

The EdTechTeam Kamloops Summit featuring Google for Education will be held in the beautiful city of Kamloops, the “Tournament Capital of BC”, in the Southern Interior of British Columbia. Kamloops is centrally located, making it an ideal location for driving to from many other areas of the province and beyond. Flights to Kamloops’ airport (YKA) are easily accessible as well. October is one of the best times to visit Kamloops, as our weather is still usually fairly mild, leaves are changing colour to their beautiful autumn hues, and there are many things to see and do in the region. Fall activities include golfing at one of our 13 nearby golf courses, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, geocaching, relaxing spa visits, and shopping! Please check out our list of the top 107 things to do in Kamloops on the local tourism website: http://www.tourismkamloops.com/107
